Isis

	Isis Isis is delighted to be the hostess for your red carpet treatment and is well known as a professional instructor, choreographer, and entertainer. She is the artistic director of the Middle Eastern Dance Troupe known as Isis and the Star Dancers and the Star Dancer Polynesian Troupe Na Hoku Lani Polynesia.
Isis has many years of professional experience as an actress, singer, and dancer in addition to modeling and being awarded two dozen beauty contest titles. She studied at the Casa Mañana Musical Theatre and performed there in many productions. Isis has also been featured in numerous magazine and television commercials. While in California she performed in Civic Light Opera Productions and discovered Hula. After returning to Texas, Isis taught stretch and tone exercise classes and fell in love with bellydancing during her 11 years as a banker. It wasn't long before she changed careers! What a joy to combine her years of entertainment training with bellydancing and be able to share these art forms with others.
	Isis has been studying, performing, and teaching Mid-Eastern dance since 1977 and Polynesian dance since 1990. Isis' first classes were taught at TCJC and she went from there to studying with the top Mid-Eastern dancers in the field, including Cheri Miller from Connecticut, Morocco and Serena from New York, Amaya from New Mexico, Tahmi from Dallas, Vashti from Dallas, Bert Balladine and Suhaila & Jamila Salimpour from California, Mahmoud Reda of Egypt, Ibraham Farrah from New York as well as others from around the world. Workshops with Rose Cason and Shireem of Texas and Frank "Keli'i" Chang of Hawaii helped shape her love of Hula and Tahitian dance.
Isis was the featured Mid-Eastern dancer at Kosta's Greek Restaurant on Bachman Lake in Dallas for eleven years and a featured entertainer at Byblo's Lebanese Restaurant in Ft. Worth and the Greek Isles Restaurant in Plano for New Year's Eve shows each year and currently. She has had her own studios since 1983. This beautiful studio in Bedford is the culmination of the dream to give dancers and teachers some place special to call their own. At this studio an exciting array of classes are available for your enjoyment.
	But Isis will tell you that nothing is more important than the wonderful people she has had the joy and pleasure to call students and friends and peers.
