Yaa Halla Y'all 2014 Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Competition

All Yaa Halla, Y'all 2014 participants who are registered in one FULL day of Dance Workshops per Category of competition and all accompanying or competing musicians registered in two (2) workshops (drum or zills rhythm) per category are invited to be contestants in The Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Competition. The Performance Registrations are closed

*THE CATEGORIES:*
THURSDAY NIGHT COMPETITION Rising Star Solo (non-professional - *Tribal/Fusion/Alternative and/or Cabaret) Duet/Trio -* *Tribal/Fusion/Alternative and/or Cabaret* *Tribal/Fusion/Alternative Professional Solo (experienced)*	*FRIDAY NIGHT COMPETITION* *Tribal/Fusion/Alternative* and/or Cabaret Troupes (4 or more) Cabaret Professional Solo (experienced teacher or professional dancer)	*SATURDAY NIGHT COMPETITION* *Drum Groups* (hand drums and other hand held percussion instruments - 3 or more)

Winners of a category in the previous year's competition may not compete in the same category the following year. (Example: If you won in the Rising Star category in 2013, you may not compete in that category in 2014) However, if you placed second or third in any category, you may compete in the same category this year.

Category Requirements
*Rising Star Solo -* Under 5 years experience in dance and/or pre-professional, non-restaurant performer, a non-teacher, and may be Tribal/Fusion/Alternative or Cabaret Duet/Trio - Any length of experience dancing, and may be Tribal/Fusion/Alternative or Cabaret Tribal/Fusion Professional Solo - 5 years or more experience in dance, and/or teacher and/or paid professional, restaurant performer, and must be Tribal/Fusion/Alternative		Troupe (4 performers or more) - Any length of experience dancing, may be Tribal/Fusion/Alternative and/or Cabaret Cabaret Professional Solo - 5 years or more experience in dance, and/or teacher and/or paid professional, restaurant performer, and must be Cabaret Drum Groups - 3 to 5 members, no traps, hand drums and/or other hand held percussion instruments

The times allowed for the Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Award performances for ALL CATEGORIES are: Rising Star: Up to 4 minutes Professional Solo: Up to 5 minutes Duet/Trio: Up to 5 minutes Troupe (4 or more performers): Up to 7 minutes Drum Group (3 to 5 members): Up to 5 minutes
*Trophy, Cash and Additional Prizes!!!* First Place Winners are invited, and should be prepared, to perform as special guest dancers in Saturday Night's Gala Show of Stars! First Place Winners will be awarded a trophy, cash and additional prizes, PLUS be acknowledged on the website and in an upcoming issue of The Belly Dance Chronicles Magazine.

*There will be a Show of Stars Thursday & Friday while the votes are tallied.* *** Voting for the Yellow Rose of Texas Belly Dance Competition will be a combination of the audience's Peoples Choice, and votes from a judges' panel of acclaimed Professionals in our field. Ballots will be handed out at the beginning of each category each night. Only audience members who are present for the beginning of each category will be eligible to vote!!!
