Zahira has been bellydancing since 1997. Before discovering bellydance, she studied jazz, modern dance, and ballroom, and in more recent years, swing and salsa. In addition to studying with Isis for eight years, she has taken workshops with many other experienced professionals and stars, including Jillina, Suhaila, Aziza, Amaya, Fahtiem, Rachel Brice, and more.
